Set Up UniUni Through EasyPost for Multiple Warehouses
Add a UniUni account in EasyPost for each warehouse, link each one to its own parcel account, and check that each warehouse gets the right zone rates.
Is this what I'm looking for?
Use this article when you connect your own UniUni account through EasyPost and ship from two or more warehouses. EasyPost rates UniUni from the Pickup Warehouse on the account, not the warehouse the order ships from, so each warehouse needs its own setup or rates come back at the wrong zone. If you ship from one warehouse, follow the steps once and skip the repeat steps. This article does not cover connecting EasyPost to InfoPlus for the first time. It applies to desktop.
Before You Begin
- Access: You need access to the Parcel Account table and Warehouse table in InfoPlus. You also need to be able to add carrier accounts in your EasyPost dashboard.
- Setup that must already exist: Each warehouse you ship from must already exist in InfoPlus.
- Information to get from your UniUni rep:
- Client ID
- Client Secret
- Customer Number
- Pickup Warehouse codes: Find the code for each warehouse in the EasyPost UniUni guide. UniUni may give you a code that is not on the EasyPost list. Use the EasyPost code that matches your warehouse location.
- Your EasyPost API key: You enter it in Part 2. To find it, see How to Retrieve an EasyPost API Key.
Steps
Part 1: Add a UniUni carrier account in EasyPost for each warehouse
- Sign in to your EasyPost dashboard
- Add a new carrier account
- Select UniUni
- Enter your UniUni credentials, including the Client ID, Client Secret, and Customer Number.
- Enter the code for your first warehouse in the Pickup Warehouse field, such as LAX.
- Use all caps
- The code must be on the list in the EasyPost UniUni guide.
- Name the account clearly to show the warehouse, such as "UniUni - CA."
- Click Create
- Copy the carrier account ID. It starts with ca_ and you will need it in Part 2.
- Repeat steps 2 to 8 for each other warehouse.
- Use the same credentials each time. Change only the Pickup Warehouse code and the name.
- UniUni uses one login for all your warehouses, so this is expected.
Part 2: Create a parcel account in InfoPlus for each warehouse
- Go to the Parcel Account table and select Create New
- Enter a Name for the parcel account to match the warehouse, such as “UniUni CA.”
- Add the Account No
- Select uniuni in the Carrier Company field
- Paste the ca_ ID from Part 1 into the Manifest Partner field
- Enter your EasyPost API key in the Manifest Partner Credentials field
- Click Save
- Go to the Warehouse table
- Select the Warehouse and click Edit
- In the Default Parcel Accounts tab, click Add, and select the UniUni Account
- Add it to this warehouse only. If one UniUni parcel account is on more than one warehouse, rates come back at the wrong zone.
- Click Save
- Optional: Add the parcel account to your rate shopping.
- Add it to each rate shop setup that should include UniUni for that warehouse.
- Repeat steps 1 to 12 for each other warehouse.
- Link each one to that warehouse's EasyPost account.
What You Should See
Each warehouse has its own UniUni account in EasyPost and its own parcel account in InfoPlus. Two warehouses would look like this:
|
InfoPlus warehouse |
EasyPost UniUni account |
Pickup Warehouse |
InfoPlus parcel account |
|---|---|---|---|
|
California |
UniUni - CA |
LAX |
UniUni CA |
|
Pennsylvania |
UniUni - PA |
EWR |
UniUni PA |
To check your rates, use Lookup Parcel Rates from each warehouse. Use a real ship-to address and weight. Check a few zones for each warehouse against your UniUni rate card. Rates should change by destination, not stay at one zone.
Troubleshooting
If a label or rate fails and EasyPost says the account is not fully set up:
Why this happens: The Pickup Warehouse is blank, or it is not a valid EasyPost code.
How to fix it: Set the Pickup Warehouse to the correct all-caps code from the EasyPost UniUni guide.
If rates come back at $0.01:
Why this happens: UniUni has not loaded your rate card. UniUni rates through EasyPost come live from UniUni, so a missing rate card shows as $0.01.
How to fix it: Ask your UniUni rep to confirm your rate card is set up on your account.
If every rate is the same zone (often Zone 8), no matter where the order goes:
Why this happens: The parcel account points to an EasyPost account set up for a different warehouse, or one parcel account is assigned to more than one warehouse.
How to fix it: Check that each warehouse uses its own parcel account. Check that each parcel account links to the EasyPost account with the right Pickup Warehouse.
If labels work but rate shopping returns no UniUni rates:
Why this happens: The new parcel account is not in your rate shopping yet, or the account has a setup issue.
How to fix it: Add the parcel account to the rate shop setup for that warehouse. If it still fails, open a support ticket. Include the warehouse and the EasyPost carrier account ID (ca_) you are using.
