Find a Record with Quick Search
Open Quick Search, search for a record, and select it from your results.
Is This What I'm Looking For?
Use this article when you need to find an order, item, or other record without clicking through menus. Quick Search is the fastest way to get to a record, but it doesn't search every table or every record. This article does not cover searching inside one table with column criteria or smart filters. This article applies to the desktop version of InfoPlus only.

Before You Begin
- Permissions: You need access to the tables you want to search
- Materials: Have the information on hand you're searching for.
Steps
- Click in the Quick Search field at the top of any screen, or press the forward slash key (/).
- The (/) only opens Quick Search when you are not clicked in a field.
- A list of your recently viewed records appears. Click on to open it, or keep going to search.
- Type the word or number you want to find
- Capital letters don't matter.
- Don't use special characters (like commas, asterisks, or quotation marks) or words like AND, OR, and NOT.
- Press Enter twice
- Click a result to open the record
What You Should See
- After you press Enter twice, a list of matching records from across InfoPlus appears.
- Order, ASN, and Customer results only include records modified in the last 6 months.
- Quick Search does not show records from the Work, Shipment, Return Shipment, Inventory Adjustment, Quick Adjustment, or Cycle Count tables. Go to those tables and use smart filter criteria instead.
- When you click a result, that record opens.
Troubleshooting
If you can't find an older order, ASN, or customer:
Why this happens: Quick Search only finds Order, ASN, and Customer records modified in the last 6 months. Your older records are still in InfoPlus.
How to fix it: Go to the Order, ASN, or Customer table and use smart filter criteria to find the record.
