The Headlines: Manifest batches, email templates, and more

Infoplus is focusing on creating visibility for users into more data and error messages to help provide clarity for issues as well as focusing on increased speed and stability.  To accomplish this, we released a few stories last night:

  • Bug Fix: Manifest batches now work with all carriers with no development intervention
  • Email Templates Can Not Be Deleted if Tied to an Order Sources
  • Leading Zeros Not Available for Item Categories/Subcategories
  • Better Handling of Scripts that Error Out Due to Size

Bug Fix: Manifest Batches Now Work with All Carriers with No Development Intervention

Previously, if you created a batch manifest, you could not alternate between DHL and any other carriers, your site tended to be manually switched to configure with one or the other.

Now, you can first create a batch for USPS, UPS, etc., and then, without problem, you can also create a batch for DHL.

Email Templates Can Not Be Deleted if Tied to an Order Source

Previously, if you deleted an email template and it was tied to an existing order source, you would encounter an error when an email tried to send to a customer, but no longer existed.

Now, Infoplus will prompt you to untie an email template from an order source before you are able to delete it.

Leading Zeros Not Available for Item Categories/Subcategories

Previously, if you added leading zeros to the Item category or subcategory, Infoplus would drop the leading zeros and only select the numbers that start thereafter for the category/subcategory. The system might then recognize 001 and 1 as the same ID, causing issues for users who wanted these two categories to be different.

This would cause problems for users who expected to see the leading zeros but did not when searching for their items.

Now, users cannot add leading zeros to categories/subcategories when creating a new SKU/Item in Infoplus.

Better Handling of Scripts that Error Out Due to Size

When a user’s script returns an error and is over 64KB, it can get stuck in a loop where it continues to re-run itself unsuccessfully.

With this update, if a script exceeds 64KB or memory and it returns an error, the user will receive an error message notifying them that the script returned an error instead of that script re-running over and over.

Added 3 New Infoplus Servers

Infoplus recently spun up three additional servers to accommodate increased demand throughout the holidays. You may need to whitelist the new IP addresses (provided below) to continue to send and receive requests through Infoplus. If the new IP addresses are not recognized by your API, requests could fail.

New IP Addresses:

  • 54.160.52.223
  • 54.211.135.232
  • 54.237.125.42

Reminder: New Limits for Bulk Loading and Editing

Please only bulk edit in batches of 500 or less in Infoplus. If you select a batch larger than 500, you will see significant system slow-downs.

Please only bulk load in batches of 5,000 or less except for Orders. You can only bulk upload 1,000 Orders at one time.

We strongly encourage users to perform large bulk edits and/or loads outside of peak business hours. Bulk edits or loads larger than the recommended batch sizes can cause significant site-wide slowdowns for your site and for other Infoplus users.
