Restock Return Order

If you decide you're not going to reship a returned order, you'll use this process to return the items to your inventory, and you'll do this for both acceptable and damaged items via a special return ASN.

Overview

When you begin the Restock process, InfoPlus automatically creates a special Return ASN. These Return ASNs will have a status of "Open" and a type of "Return," and their IDs will always start with "R-" followed by the original PO number (e.g., R-000149).

Additionally, for every individual line item on the Return Order, even if some are acceptable and others are damaged, a separate Item Receipt will be generated. So, if a customer returns four of the same item but two are damaged, you'll see two Item Receipts for that SKU: one for the two good items and another for the two damaged ones.

This separation allows you to handle each condition (restocking vs. writing off) independently.

After the Return ASN is generated, you will perform the receiving process as usual with this ASN. Acceptable items will be placed back into your inventory. Damaged items will also be placed back into your inventory, but with the status Damaged.

Step 1: Start Restock Process

Start the Restock process by going to the Return Order and clicking Restock Return Order from the Actions dropdown, like so:

Step 2: Review

You'll be prompted to go over any details that might impact this restock process on a review screen. If there are any errors expected, InfoPlus will display them for you to review and take action on as needed.

If everything looks good, click Submit.

You'll see the results of the Restock Return Order submission on the next screen, like so:

You'll also see the Return ASN PO No (highlighted in the screenshot above) for you to refer to when you need to receive it which is the next step.

Step 3: Receiving

Follow the normal receiving process as outlined here.

Once you've received all the items for the Return, you're done. You can verify this by going to the Return Order and checking its status; it should show Complete.
